Catalonia is synonymous with history and tradition, it has a rich, extensive cultural patrimony, which is shown in a large number of artistic varieties that have developed throughout different periods.

Geographically, Catalonia has a rich diversity of landscapes ranging from long, sandy beaches to dense forests and the Pyrenees valleys surrounded by snow capped mountains. All of which creates a country with microclimates.

In gastronomy, the Mediterranean cuisine is a combination of the fresh products that the sea offers us and the variety of products harvested in the fields.

Costa Dorada

The Costa Daurada

Within this geographic paradise we find the Costa Dorada, one of the most significant and beautiful coastal landscapes on the Mediterranean coast. Here we can find long beaches that are not very deep with hardly any orographic accidents, fine, white sand beaches mixed with old fishing villages that have maintained their sailing traditions within the tourist surroundings.

We would also highlight the Ebro Delta, a nature reserve that offers exceptional scenery, a natural space of great beauty and interest that is the most important aquatic habitat on the Mediterranean.

The province of Tarragona is rich in tourism, especially in the coastal cities where the majority of marinas and fishing harbours are.

La Pineda

La Pineda

The Pineda Beach is located between the Mediterranean Sea, the golden sun and green pine trees and forms part of the municipality called Vila-seca where the atmosphere is festive, dynamic and jovial.

Its nearness to Tarragona and the various leisure and fun centres make La Pineda the ideal place to spend your holidays.

On La Pineda Beach you can practise different sports, the majority related to water sports and we would highlight La Pineda aquatic park, where there is a wide range of water rides.

However, we can't forget "Universal's Port Aventura", less than 3Km from the city centre, one of the most visited theme parks in Europe. You can live out a fantastic adventure trip for all the family by going through its 5 countries: the charming MEDITERRANEA, the exotic POLYNESIA, the millennium CHINA, the happy MEXICO and the far FAR WEST.

There are lots of leisure possibilities at night, as the town becomes full of coloured lights and music of all styles, in the many pubs and discotheques that will liven us up until the early hours.

Tarragona

Tarragona, the ancient "Tarraco" played a very important role in the "Mediterráneo" and it is thanks to this archaeological legacy that "Tarragona" was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by "UNESCO" on the 30th of November 2000.

Two thousand five hundred years of history, with multiple cultures and a continuous urban life, have made Tarragona a city with a rich patrimonial legacy.

The most important historical-cultural influence left on Tarragona was that of the Roman Empire. It should be remembered that " Tarraco", the current Tarragona, was the administrative capital of the Roman province called Tarraconense for centuries.

That's why we can find Roman architecture and art in the capital as well as throughout the province, for example, the Forum, the Pretoria, the Circus and the Amphitheatre. There is also the Tarragona Archaeological Museum with subterranean walkways throughout the city's old town.
